Stamford, New York "The Queen of the Catskills" is the gateway of the Northwest Catskills. Stamford and the surrounding communities comprise the area of "Utsayantha Country"; so named for the mountain that generates the Princess Utsayantha legend.

From NYC Area
Interstate 87 North (the Thruway) to exit 19 at Kingston, take Route 28 West to the intersection of Rt. 42, follow Rt. 42 to its end and take a left on Rt. 23A, Rt. 23A becomes Rt. 23 in Prattsville. Continue from Prattsville on Rt.23 to the Village of Stamford.
From Binghamton
Interstate 88 East to Oneonta exit 15, take Route 23 East about 25 miles to the Village of Stamford. In Stamford take a right at the first light.
From Albany
Interstate 90 West to exit 25A, take Interstate 88 West to Richmondville exit 20, go straight at the 4-way intersection, this is Route 10 continue for about 20 miles to the Village of Stamford.
From Syracuse
Interstate 81 South to exit 6, follow the signs to Interstate 88 East.Take Interstate 88 East to Oneonta exit 15, take Route 23 East about 25 miles to Stamford. In Stamford take a right at the first light.
